Race Distances and Courses

We've put together a super-cool and speedy course that starts in front of the Kino Veteran's Memorial Stadium and ends on the centerfield of the stadium.  Beautiful views, unique and fast course --great for personal bests and awesome for havin' fun!  Thanks to Lucas Tyler for measuring the course to USATF specifications.

Location

Kino Veteran's Memorial Stadium, 2500 East Ajo -- easy access with plenty of free parking!  Take I-10 to the Kino Parkway North Exit 263B. Traveling north on Kino Parkway, take a right at the first light to Ajo Way. Turn left onto Ajo Way. At Forgeus Street, turn right to get to Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium facility.  The race starts in front of the stadium and will include Forgeus Street, so be sure to get an early start.  Click here for all the location details, including directions and instructions for convenient and free parking.

Women's 5k Course: Starts just east of the main entrance to the baseball stadium.  The race will then head around the stadium, north on Forgeus, and then take a sharp left turn to enter the park heading clockwise.  You'll do one lap of this scenic bike path (follow the yellow arrows below), then swing back onto Forgeus and head back to an outer loop of the stadium (follow the blue arrows below), dropping down a steep hill and sprinting 100 yards along the baseball field to finish on the outfield grass.
Water is at Mile 1 and at Mile 2.  Thanks to the Tucson Tri-Girls and TMC for helping with the water!

The Mile Race: The mile race is a three-lap speedster of a course, starting and finishing on the stadium apron near the hot chocolate counter!  The route is counter-clockwise. If you're not running, cheer 'em on -- and stay out of their way as they dash around the field . . .

Race Weather

Cool early in the morning with beautiful sunshine as the day unfolds.
