The Gauntlet Trail Race - Thank You!

Greg Wenneborg April 17, 2016

Our first trail race at Pima College on Saturday night is now in the history books.  Thank you for coming out and making our first one fun.   We had 102 finishers in the women's race and 72 for the men on a great sunny afternoon. Top finishers were Aleta Jokisch for the women in 34:24 and Brian Hall in the men's race with a time of 31:07.  This is a technical course with lots of hills on the trails of Pima Community College's west campus.   Results can be found here!

Special thanks to our sponsor, The Running Shop and Sharon Bart, for the generous overall and age group awards.  Also, much of the pre-event work was done by SAR board members Diane Manzini and Lucas Tyler... I really appreciate all their work!   Race day help was provided by Tim Bentley, Steve Outridge, and John Sabatine.  We had a host of other volunteers out to help out who we really appreciate.

The Gauntlet will provide some financial support to our Pima College Track & Field Teams, who are currently in-season and doing very well.  Over 50 student-athletes are on the team with about half of them earning national championship qualifying marks so far!

If you didn't get your award after the race, please stop by The Running Shop.  Thanks again for coming to the race!
