On Tucson’s NW side at the base of the Catalina Mountains, Catalina State Park offers fairly flat road running and some fantastic trail options.

This is the site of SAR’s big Labor Day 8 Mile Run. Winding through a forest of saguaros, this 8 mile rollercoaster (lots o’ hills!) loop is not to be missed. Many great trail options as well.
The Loop is a system of paved, shared-use paths connecting the Rillito, Santa Cruz, and Pantano River Parks with the Julian Wash and Harrison Road Greenways.
