TMC Meet Me Downtown Updates
Randy Accetta May 15, 2012It looks like Tucson will have an honored guest, Runner’s World Executive Editor Amby Burfoot, winner of the 1968 Boston Marathon and author of The Runner’s Guide to the Meaning of Life. Details of Amby’s visit to the Old Pueblo will be announced shortly.

The event benefits the Children’s Museum, Child and Family Resources, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Imagine Greater Tucson, the Fox Theatre, Cinema La Placita, Greater Tucson Leadership, the Educational Enrichment Foundation, and the Critical Path Institute’s PKD Foundation. This is the first event in the 2012 Gabe Zimmerman Triple Crown.

Tucson 5000 - Mother’s Day Edition!
Greg Wenneborg May 12, 2012The 2012 Tucson 5000 is tomorrow morning at 7:00 AM at Reid Park. Sunday is Mother’s Day and we haven’t forgotten about all you running Moms out there! Come on out and get a great workout in before spending the rest of your day being pampered by your family! We’ll have a special VIP Mother’s Day Table at the post-race refreshment area and a special award for the first Mother across the finish line! We also have the 1-mile Fun Run for all the kids who come out to watch their Mom’s (kids 12/under are free!). The 1-mile run will begin around 7:45AM so Mom’s and Dad’s can finish their 5K, grab a refreshment, then jog alongside their family in the 1-mile! More…
