Race Description

The Tucson 5000 is part of SAR’s 2008 Running Shop Desert Grand Prix. This pancake-flat, fast course provides the perfect opportunity for a 5K PR. Proceeds will benefit Pima Community College Cross-country Team and The Symphony Women’s Association Music Education Program.

Race Distances and Course

Fast, flat, USATF-certified 5K course around Reid Park. There will be a water station at the halfway point.

Location

Reid Park, Ramada 18 Access Reid Park from Country Club, first entrance north of 22nd Street.

Awards

First three overall winners, masters and 5-year age bands.

All entrants are eligible for raffle prizes.

$16 - SAR Member, mailed by 5/12/08
$18 - SAR Member after 5/12/08
$18 - Non-SAR Member, mailed by 5/12/08
$20 - Non-SAR Member after 5/12/08
$25 - ALL on Race Day

Registration

Print a registration form, fill it in and mail it with payment. Registration by mail must be postmarked by May 12, 2008.

Online registration is available on www.active.com.

Walk-in registration and packet pick-up will be at the Running Shop, 3055, N. Campbell Avenue – map) from 10am to 3pm on Saturday May 17th.

Race-day registration and packet pick-up will be at Ramada 14, Reid Park from 5.30 a.m. on race day.

Weather

Start-time temperatures are usually 80 degrees F, clear skies, and no wind. Check out Tucson's current conditions and forecast so you'll be race-ready!
