Get Moving Tucson 10-Miler
October 11, 2009

Race Description

The 5th Get Moving Tucson takes place in Downtown Tucson on Sunday morning, October 11th. This is the 30th running of the annual SAR 10-miler and 5K running race & non-competitive family fitness walk.

NEW PARTNER: SAR is pleased to announce that Get Moving Tucson will now partner with Tucson’s most prestigious festival, Tucson Meet Yourself.  Every year, over 100,000 visitors flock to Tucson Meet Yourself, a 3-day fair of food, music, dance, and a celebration of our shared culture.  See http://www.tucsonmeetyourself.org.

This year, the Get Moving Tucson start/finish and staging area will be on Church Street just north of Congress.  This will provide a beautiful setting of Jacome Plaza at the library and the Presidio Park at the Old Courthouse. The courses will stay largely the same, but incorporate some of the great additions to Downtown– the new Scott Avenue, the Basket and Rattlesnake Bridges, and the new Fourth Avenue Underpass.  The last half-mile of the 10-miler will be along Congress Avenue in the urban canyons of Downtown Tucson.
